Big Fish Games: Customer CDs
Description
There was a time when customers ordering games from the on-line games company Big Fish Games could request a physical copy of the game. These were game in a stiff card envelope and was accompanied by a disc containing trial versions of their games. All the CDs had the customer's name, the names of the games and order number printed on the label.
When the CD autoruns in gives the user the option to install each game separately. Sometimes the install process insists on being given an e-mail address. If the e-mail address supplied does not match that associated with the customer's account then the installed game is only playable for sixty minutes. However other games install then require 'activation', i.e. the users e-mail and password, if these details are not available the game will not play at all.
This method of delivery went on for a number of years but the example shown here is from the UK dated 2011.
