WinBridge
Description
WinBridge is a single-player implementation of the standard game, the player and their AI partner play North-South and take on an AI pair playing East-West in either rubber or duplicate bridge. The game opens in a window but can be played in full screen mode, it is entirely mouse controlled.
The bridge bidding system is based on ACOL and the supports following conventions; weak, strong or variable no trump; Standard or Benjamin opening two bids; Stayman and/or Blackwood two club responses; Blackwood or Gerber when slam seeking; and take-out doubles. It also allows the North-South pair to play different conventions to the East-West pair. One of the configuration options can be used to bias the contracts towards either pair which is useful when practising attacking and defensive play
There’s a useful help file which explains the controls, the basics of bridge and the ACOL bidding system. The shareware version of the game is fully functional other than it does not allow the player top save any configuration changes, while the registered version has additional features such as being able to replay a trick, set up specific hands to play and being able to pause the autoplay feature.
