Cell War
Description
Cell War is a shareware strategy game that can be played against either the computer of another human player. The game is based on rules similar to those laid down for John Horton Conway’s of Game of Life. It is a turn based game, when each player has completed their turn the game board is updated. When both players pass the game is over and the score is calculated with the winner being the player with the highest average number of cells throughout the game. In this game the rules are:* Any cell not touching another cell horizontally, vertically, or diagonally will die of loneliness.
-
Any cell touching four friendly cells horizontally or vertically will be suffocated.
-
Any cell touching three unfriendly cells horizontally or vertically will die from poisoning.
-
A new cell will be created when the square is surrounded by two or three friendly cells horizontally or vertically.
-
If, when the game board is updated a new cell may be created by either player in the same square the player who moved first in the will take the square.
There game configuration options include two levels of AI difficulty, the game board can be varied from 4x4 to 25x20, the number of cells populating the board at the start of the game can be altered as can the number of cells placed in each turn.
