Gold Monkey
Description
Gold Monkey is a single player, mouse controlled strategy game that is something of a cross between Minesweeper and Snake.
The game is played in a window containing a 25x20 grid. In most of the cells there is a number, a couple of the cells contain a red spider and one cell contains a banana – this is the starting point.
Beneath each numbered cell is a banana and the object of the game is to reveal every banana on the game board. Starting with the single revealed banana the player clicks on any of the adjacent cells horizontally, vertically or diagonally. The game uses the number and position of that cell to reveal a row of bananas, so if the player clicked on the cell to the right of the start banana and it contained a number five then the game would reveal five bananas in a row to the right and the start point for the next move would be at the end of the line.
The game ends if the player either touches one of the red spiders, goes off the edge of the game area or attempts to re-use an exposed cell. The game records the top five scores, a player's score being the percentage of the bananas cleared in a game.
