Rolemaster: Magestorm

Description

Rolemaster: Magestorm is an online-only 3-D arena battle game based on the Rolemaster rule system by Iron Crown Enterprises. Matches pit three opposing teams of mages (Order, Balance, and Chaos) against each other in enclosed arenas. Players pick one of four specializations (Cleric, Magician, Mentalist, or Arcanist), which defines their available offensive or defensive spells and the method used to recharge their magic power. Experience is persistently-tracked, and granted for kills and team support actions. Experience grants new levels, which unlock new spells, increased stats, and larger reserves of magic power.

Each team has a shrine in a corner of their map; acting somewhat as a flag to be captured. As long as the shrine is active, members of that team may use its power to respawn. If an opposing team stands next to the shrine and drains it, all members of that team stay dead unless remaining teammates repair the shrine. A game is over when one team permanently kills all of the mages on the other two teams, or when the match timer runs out.

Players chat and form new matches from the "Tavern," which acts as the game's lobby. Multiple matches from one of six levels are run concurrently, and up to 40 players may join any battle in progress. Each player may have up to three different characters on their account, and may change their allegiance (but never their specialty "class") at any time.
