Salvo!

Salvo! is a single player, mouse controlled seafaring wargame in which the player commands ships, either individually or as squadrons or fleets, and fights as England, Spain, the Netherlands, France, and the United States on the high seas against each other or the Barbary Coast pirates.

The game has both preset scenarios and campaigns set in the 17th, 18th & 19th centuries. Each mission lasts typically between one and two hours and, like most wargames, is turn based however this game does not use the top-down view with a hex grid it uses a semi 3D view and there's not a grid in sight.

Various elements of the game, such as what ammo to load into the canons, can be controlled by the player or by the game.
