Das im Mittelalter angesiedelte Spiel konnte eine Spielspaßwertung von satten 92% für sich verbuchen und ist mit 49 Mark nicht zu teuer bezahlt.
I'll shush now, other than to say that you simply must get this game if you don't have the original. And with the rebate, it may be worth it even if you do. Thief: Gold is, well, solid gold.
Here's the bottom line: Thief took me places I've never been in my gaming experience; it redefines the possibilities of computer gaming, and has forever raised the bar on game excellence. So there.
Overall, Thief Gold has been perhaps the most enjoyable single player game I have played in a very long time. I have been a great fan of multiplayer games for a long time, and I had my doubts about Thief Gold seeing as how it had no multi-player. The game is decidedly strong without any multi-player aspects, easily the most immersive single player game I have played since I can’t even remember when. If your favorite RPG character was the rogue, your favorite hero a thief, or your favorite game as a child hide-n-go-seek, without a moment’s hesitation go buy this game.
THIEF GOLD holds true to its name. It really is a gold- plated version of the original. In addition to some much-needed play balancing for the original game’s 12 missions, you get three superb new missions that are mixed into the original story, fleshing it out a bit.

If you missed Thief the first time round, go buy Thief Gold NOW! Although the graphics are a little ropey in places the game is still a classic, and at just £15 you can't go wrong.

For those of us who have played the original game to death already, it is a little harder to recommend though. Three new missions aren't much for your money, especially as one of them isn't particularly good.
Thief is one of my personal favorite games of all time. When I first heard about it, I truly didn't think this gold version would offer anything of value. I stand corrected. Thief Gold is one of the worthiest gold products I've ever used, and when you consider all of the new features and combine that with its friendly price, you get pure value. This is a unique product that offers action gamers the chance to use more of their brain than brawn, and it does it ever so eloquently.
The game comes bundled with a few other extras as well, including a short "making of" movie and a level editor, but as polished as the package is there are still a few rough edges. The Dark Engine is a major one—it looked a bit dated even when Thief was first released, and it looks more so now. Additionally, while the three new missions are quite long and well crafted, there are still only three of them. Still, with a street price of $29 and two rebate coupons (a $10 coupon for owners of the original game, and another $10 coupon towards the purchase of the upcoming Thief 2), the game is a good value pretty much across the board. If you never played Thief, then by all means play Thief Gold. If you did play the original - well, at least you know what you are getting into.

To those who have never played the game, buy Thief Gold! The only reason it didn't get a perfect rating is because, in truth, it is just a revamped version of a game many of us have played already. If you haven't played it, GET IT...otherwise, three new missions might not be enough for one and all. Either way, the box includes a $10 rebate for owners of the original game, and an additional rebate for the upcoming Thief 2. Not bad at all!
