Louise Bell has been in the game industry for 8+ years and her experience has ranged from hands on development, to management, documentation and research.
Her career began with a small start-up that worked on Ted Nugent’s Wild Hunting Adventure. There she built character assets and created animations for this wild but exciting game.
Louise then quickly moved to 3DO where she gained a great deal of experience working on titles such as Army Men: Sarges Hero 2, Jonny Moseley Mad Trix, Portal Runner, and High Heat Baseball. Her responsibilities on these products included characters, environments and texture painting.
Taking some of the experience she gained from High Heat Baseball she moved to Blueshift where she could apply her knowledge to the World Series Baseball franchise. On this project she learned how to manage a simultaneous release on three consoles. Her success on this triathalon put her in a management role reviewing and approving outsourced assets from a wide range of studios. She also continued to serve as an artist painting player faces, uniforms, and working with raw mo-cap data.
Wanting to move away from the sports world, Louise moved on to work at Secretlevel, where she worked on Magic the Gathering: Battlegrounds, and America’s Army, as well as several cancelled projects. At Secretlevel Louise was responsible for building assets, environments and lighting. She also oversaw the creation of numerous environments for their overall look, feel, and art direction.
Louise’s most recent accomplishments have been made at Cryptic studios where she worked on the well-known City of Heroes / Villains franchise. Her responsibilities included managing several outsource companies, reviewing, approving and art directing the look and feel of assets, managing an internal asset building team, documenting, research, and overseeing art tutorials.
Louise is a very versatile artist with solid experience. Her talent is visible in her work and can be attributed to her traditional art training. She has proven her strong leadership capabilities, and art skills, and fortunately for all, loves playing games.
