Jay founded Digi Ronin Games in 2008 with Paul Potera and Ben Moy. He has developed and continues to maintain relationships with companies such as National Geographic, Disney, Cartoon Network, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Microsoft. Over the past several years alone he has overseen the development of more than a dozen titles based on a variety of licenses such as Garfield, Holly Hobby, Strawberry Shortcake, and a wide selection of Disney characters. These titles spanned the Nintendo GBA and DS; Microsoft Xbox 360; and PC.
Prior to helping found Digi Ronin Games, Jay worked with Octagon Entertainment and Merscom Games. During his time with Octagon, Jay arranged numerous deals across the globe for PC, GameCubeTM, Playstation 2®, and XboxTM games. Jay also proved to be a key evaluator of projects, having secured some of Octagon's most successful games. As his work migrated to the Merscom side of the business, Jay was key in building the digital distribution network that is still in use today.
Jay regularly provides advice for the development community through lectures at GDC as well as the Triangle Gaming Expo. Jay also contributed chapters on contract negotiation to the books "Game Design Methods" and "Secrets of the Game Business" from Charles River Media.
Jay received his BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998.
