Tom Buscaglia, The Game Attorney, is a principal in the law firm The Game Attorney PC with offices in the Seattle, Washington, area. Tom has been admitted to practice in Washington State, Florida and the District of Columbia, as well as in Federal Trial and Appellate Courts, including the United States Supreme Court. In addition to obtaining his Law degree, with honors, from Georgetown University, Tom holds a B.A. in Philosophy, with honors, from S.U.N.Y., Buffalo.
Tom has assisted over 200 independent game developers since 1991 in all aspects of business and legal matters. He has written numerous articles and frequently speaks on game industry business and legal matters. He has presented at the Game Developers Conference, LOGIN, Casual Connect, PAX (Prime and East) and Valve’s Steam Dev Days. He wrote the chapter entitled “Effective Developer Agreements” for the book, The Secrets of the Game Business. Tom served on the Board of the International Game Developers Association from 2005 through 2016, including as Chair and Treasurer and founded the IGDA charitable Foundation as well as the IGDA Business and Legal Special Interest Group.
As FaTe[F8S] Tom is founder and Supreme Warlord of FaTe’s Minions, an online gaming "clan" that has been competing in various online competitions since January 1998 and has a gamer's appreciation and understanding of the game industry.
