In 2009 Jason Beene is the US Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab's Art Director. Previously, he served as Studio Art Director of an internal THQ development group for seven years when he joined the handheld development studio Helixe in the Fall of 2001, initially as an illustrator. There he was involved with numerous Nintendo handheld titles and had the opportunity to work with the likes of Pixar and Nickelodeon. His time at THQ was spent doing everything from pixel pushing to managing/mentoring a talented art staff.

Beene is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design where he spent a year of study abroad with RISD's European Honors Program based in Rome, Italy. He has also studied at Maryland Institute College of Art and attended Pennsylvania's Governor's School for the Arts. In the past Jason has freelanced as a children's book illustrator and enjoys making art accessible to audiences both young and old.
