Biography edit · view history

With over two decades experience in the games industry, and nearly 50 titles under his belt, Andy Parton began his programming career on a borrowed Vic 20 in 1985. After seeing a small-ad in the local paper, looking for programmers, he was offered a job writing arcade conversions for the Commodore 64.

Andy worked freelance for several years before being offered a job at Microprose, alongside the composer John Broomhall, where he worked on, arguably, some of the most seminal entries in gaming history - including the X-Com, Grand Prix, and Civilisation series.

Since leaving Microprose, Andy has worked for several studios around the country, both as a programmer and as the 'audio guy'. He is now happily entrenched at Jagex Games Studio in Cambridge, working with a bunch of other 'audio guys' on several different projects including the massively multi-player online role-playing game 'Runescape'.
