Jonathan (Huw) Williams, AKA Jonny Williams, Jon Williams.
Williams is a UK-based composer, orchestrator and conductor, Director of Music at St Hilda's College, Oxford, and Orchestral Director of Nimrod Productions
He composed the orchestral scores for the video games Getaway 2: Black Monday (PS2), Heavenly Sword (PS3) and Act of War (Atari) and as Orchestrator and Conductor he worked on games such as Sony's 24: The Game (recorded at Abbey Road), Driver 4: Parallel Lines, Driv3r, Loons, Gangs of London and Ground Control 2: Operation Exodus.
For TV he orchestrated for Sky TV's 24 and the BBC's Andes to Amazon with Nicholas Hooper. His orchestrations for the concert hall include those for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, London Primavera and the OperaBabes.
As an orchestral conductor Williams has worked with English Sinfonia, Nimrod Studio Orchestra, Oxford Chamber Orchestra, Oxford University Orchestra, Ealing Symphony Orchestra and others. He has conducted much of the choral/orchestral repertoire from Bach to Stravinsky and numerous operas including La Bohème and Eugene Onegin. He was the vocal coach for The Tempest' at the Crucible Theatre.
As a Musicologist he teaches Orchestration at Oxford University and is the Director of Music at St Hilda's College, Oxford. He was an advisor for the movie Troy and for English National Ballet and he contributed an edition of Jean-Philippe Rameau's Anacréon published by Bärenreiter. He lectures at the Academy of Contemporary Music, Guildford, and was formerly Professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Tutor in Orchestration and Arranging at Morley College, London.
