Biography edit · view history
Darren, along with brother, Jason Falcus, started programming and designing video games in 1981, and had several of these published in the UK over the next five years. In 1988, after recognising the market potential, and the way that games were going to have to be developed in the future, he set up a small development company, Optimus Software Ltd.
By 1993, Darren's role had changed and involved the day-to-day running of the company. This was when Optimus was acquired by Iguana Entertainment, and became Iguana UK.
Over the next three years, Darren was involved in setting up an organizational structure and relocating Iguana to a plush, new building overlooking the River Tees. Darren was also involved in accounting, equipment purchasing, network installation, recruitment, project management, scheduling and initiating policies and procedures. A large amount of his time was been spent building up Iguana UK (now Acclaim Studios Teesside) to a high of over seventy people, and helping to recruit for the U.S. studio.
Darren founded Atomic Planet Entertainment with his brother in August, 2000, and is currently responsible for the day-to-day running of Atomic Planet, and providing the vision for the future direction.
