Kazuro Morita (森田和郎, 1955 - July 27, 2012) was a programmer and the founder of game developer Random House. He established the company in 1983 after winning Enix's first game programming contest with his game Moritan no Battle Field.
Morita was a devoted board game player, and was highly-ranked in Shogi, Go, and Othello. His company was best known for its Shogi games featuring Morita's name and his own play algorithms; in 1986 he published a book on how to design such algorithms, which included source code for his Othello game.
In 1999, all staff and assets of Random House were transferred to a new company called Yuki Enterprise; at this point Morita stepped down as president but continued to work with Yuki Enterprise as a programmer. He passed away in July 2012 at the age of 57.
