Upon graduating from Loughborough University with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Studies, Rocco entered into the Software Industry with a position at Pafec, a Cad-Cam software developer, where he worked on their surface modeling package called Swans. This was followed by a move into Manufacturing Software development including the design, implementation and installation of corporate MRP II solutions for large multinationals.
Over more than 13 years, Rocco worked as a programmer, software lead, project manager and Director before entering into the games industry. In 2000, Rocco joined Charybdis Ltd where he worked projects called DinoHunter and the PC-based RPG/RTS Magic & Mayhem: The Art of Magic. In April 2001, Rocco joined Climax where work on Magic & Mayhem: Art of Magic completed in late 2001 and was published by Virgin Interactive.
Rocco then moved on to work on Warhammer Online in roles from programmer to Technical Director. As Technical Director for the Online Studio, Rocco was responsible for managing and overseeing all technological developments relating to the Leviathan MMOG Engine. In 2005, Rocco formed part of the management team that founded Monumental Games Ltd whereupon he took on the role of Chief Technical Officer. Monumental Games Ltd is a provider of MMOG Middleware and Development Services to the games industry.
More recently, Rocco has been instrumental in the development of Football Superstars, a football-based MMOG for Cybersports and other internal IP projects. Rocco also works closely with technology partners such as Intel, Microsoft, nVidia and ATI and has presented at the nVidia Dusk to Dawn 2003 conference.
