Biography edit · view history

A specialist in vehicle dynamics, Ben Ponsford was brought up with a passion for cars and motorsport and combined this with an interest in maths and physics to write a vehicle simulation & analysis software package whilst studying at Northumbria University. During this time he also wrote a couple of mods for Live for Speed.

This led to an opportunity in the games industry, joining Eutechnyx in 2007, where he worked on tuning vehicle handling for Supercar Challenge, developing a new motorbike simulation for Ride to Hell and adding simulation features necessary for the high level of detail required by NASCAR The Game 2011.

In 2012 he relocated to Sheffield to join Sumo Digital and later became part of the small team developing Sumo's first mobile title Scorched: Combat Racing and spent 2 years in the vehicle team on their ill-fated take on Dead Island 2.

In 2018 he moved back to Newcastle upon Tyne to join Ubisoft Reflections where, as of 2021, he now leads a vehicle simulation team that benefits numerous productions, including Watch Dogs: Legion.
