Originally drawing on a background in law enforcement, Bert first entered game development in 1996 as the Lead Mission Director for the LBE center "The OtherSide", which utilized networked combat simulators and paramilitary briefings to deliver customized missions to paying customers.
The next four years were split between training other mission directors in Detroit, Dallas, and Los Angeles, and participating in creation of custom online mission content and briefings for the spinoff corporation "SimCorps.com". Bert was a required presence for high-profile military and tradeshow presentations for the sister companies.
In the Spring of 2001, Bert switched focus to the development of core games by joining the Gas Powered Games team on his first published title, Dungeon Siege in spring of 2002. Since that time Bert has been acting as an Associate Producer or full producer for sequel titles, and future IP development.
