Overview edit · view history

Wargaming Seattle (formerly known as Gas Powered Games) was a development studio founded by Chris Taylor, along with Jake McMahon, Bartosz Kijanka, Mike Biddlecombe and Rick Saenz, coming from Cavedog Entertainment.

Initially, the company focused solely on the RPG Dungeon Siege series, for which the film rights have been sold as well. In February 2007, the company released the real-time strategy game Supreme Commander followed by the action RPG Space Siege in August 2008.

Demigod, a real-time strategy game influenced by the Warcraft III custom map Defense of the Ancients, was released in 2009 and the sequel to Supreme Commander, Supreme Commander 2, in 2010.

For a time, they were working on the fantasy RTS Kings & Castles, which was ultimately never released.

On 14 February 2013, Wargaming.net, Inc. announced to have acquired the company. On 23 May 2018, the company's closure was announced. At that time, the company had employed roughly 150 staff members. Many developers moved on to Crystal Northwest, a new studio established in 2018.
