Biography edit · view history

Shaun has been making games professionally since 1997, but his passion for the craft started at the tender age of 12, when he discovered that it was even an option to make games when he grew up. From making a Defender clone on his TS-1000 with its whopping 16k of memory to the consoles of today, he has been obsessed with making digital worlds come alive. While in college he studied physics, astronomy, and mathematics, but his desire to make games convinced him to drop out of physics grad school to fulfill his childhood dream.

Throughout his career Shaun has worked on numerous big-name titles and plenty of not so big-name titles. He’s worked at small indie developers, and at Sony and Microsoft. He’s worked on massive multiplayer shooters, 3D action adventure games, MMOs, creature battlers, RTSs and simulators. He has helped build multiple engines from the ground up for new consoles as well as written code for every other aspect of game development.

These days, as of July 2020, he is on a mission to improve the process of how games are made. He’s passionate about building diverse, strong, and amazing engineering teams to empower content producers to build the best games possible.
