The Austin branch of Ion Storm, L.P. was led by Warren Spector from 1997 to 2004. It worked on separate projects from its Dallas headquarters, and ended up being more successful. In 2000, it was joined by part of the staff of the closed Looking Glass Studios.
It was closed in 2005 due to financial problems, a year after Spector left the company. A good part of its employees migrated to Midway Studios - Austin Inc..
