Overview edit · view history

Psyonix, Inc. is an expert Unreal Engine development team located in southern California. The company moved across the country from its original location in Raleigh, North Carolina, to San Diego, California, in December 2009.

Over the past 10 years, Psyonix has contributed to more than a dozen Unreal Engine based games including later installments of the Unreal Tournament series, Gears of War, and its own independently developed title, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. Psyonix has built its success on applying Unreal technology to games on all platforms. Their arguably most successful game, Rocket League, was released in 2015 and gathered a large e-sports following.

On 1 May 2019, the company announced to have been acquired by Epic Games, Inc., with the closure of the acquisition expected in late May or early June of that year.
