Overview edit · view history

ISOTX is a game development studio that is registered as or acts as a division of the company IPsotx Sàrl. It is based in Utrecht, the Netherlands and has been active at least since 2005. One of the founding members is Vincent van Geel.

The studio's first title, Iron Grip: Warlord, was released in 2008. Van Geel originally started with modifications for Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty and then moved on through different RTS games to mods for Command & Conquer: Generals. With his Holland mod he attracted international attention and went on to make two Mid East Crisis conversions. A predecessor to the first Iron Grip game was released in 2007 as Iron Grip: The Oppression - a modification for Half-Life 2 using the Source engine. For Iron Grip: Warlord, ISOTX's first commercial game in 2008 and backed by investors, the Quake III engine was used.

After the Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 conversion Mid East Crisis 2.0 in 2009, ISOTX made two expansions for Warlords in 2010 and 2011, and released two more commercial games in the series: Iron Grip: Lords of War (2010) and Iron Grip: Marauders (2011). For the latter, the Unity engine was used.

ISOTX also developed CrosuS, a mod delivery platform for downloading, managing, and playing games, mods and maps. It was preceded by ModToaster, written to handle mods for Command & Conquer: Generals - Zero:Hour.
