Overview edit · view history
Small Rockets was set up on October 2000 to create innovative entertainment software. It was founded by a core team of experienced game and software developers led by Jonathan Small who previously headed up Fiendish Games and Criterion Studios. Small Rockets is a privately owned company and is located in Guildford, England.
The team has a wide range of development experience and skills including... * Consoles (PS2/XBox/Dreamcast) * Handhelds (GBA) * PC (boxed retail/ESD) * Website, ecommerce and distributed systems * Technology and libraries * Mobile phones and set top boxes
Small Rockets is currently working on a selection of exciting new projects including two next generation console titles, a high profile Game Boy Advance title, and new ESD titles for the PC.
The company has unique expertise in developing high quality content designed specifically for 'electronic software distribution' (ESD). ESD allows for consumers to access games without having to leave the comfort of their home. Software can be downloaded rapidly by a wide variety of means directly onto a machine, without the need for a CD or DVD.
ESD is producing a new games content market which is more akin to television. It allows for a wide range of smaller and more diverse content to be available directly to a huge customer base at a low cost. This new market will take up a very large slice of the entertainment market which will be increasingly dominated by content distributed solely digitally.
