Overview edit · view history
Iron Lore Entertainment was a game development company founded in October 2000 by veteran game developer Brian Sullivan and entrepreneur Paul Chieffo. It was headquartered in Maynard, Massachusetts. On 19th February 2008 the company announced to close down because they could not secure investment for future projects.
In its history, the company released three games, Titan Quest, an original franchise, followed by the expansion Titan Quest: Immortal Throne. At the 2007 Game Developers Choice Awards, the company was chosen "best new studio" for their work on Titan Quest.
They also developed the Soulstorm standalone expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. However, the company closed due to financial issues on 19 February 2008, mere weeks before Soulstorm would ship, returning support back to the original game's developers Relic Entertainment.
The legacy of the studio Titan Quest action RPG survived in the establishment of Crate Entertainment, an independent studio established in 2008 with former Iron Lore developers.
