Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is a division of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (itself a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery) responsible for the company's video game operations. As of its formation in January 2004, it marketed games under the WB Games label.

On 12 February 2009, the company acquired multiple intellectual properties including the Mortal Kombat franchise, as well as the Midway Chicago and Surreal Software studios from the Midway Home Entertainment.

As of 2017, the company has used the Portkey Games publishing label for games which use the Harry Potter/Wizarding World license.

The company announces to have acquired the development house Snowblind Studios.

The company acquires Traveller's Tales Ltd.

June 17th, 2005

The company establishes a licensing agreement with Sony Online Entertainment to let them develop a DC Comics massively multiplayer online game. Sony also acquires The Matrix Online and hires some employees of Monolith Productions, as the company had to let 80 people go after pulling out of the project.

January 14th, 2004

Newly launched gaming division at Warner Brothers. Jason Hall (formally Monolith Productions CEO) is to head its operations as Senior Vice President.
