ALTAR interactive is a sister company of ALTAR publishing, the creator and publisher of the most successful fantasy role-playing game in the Czech Republic, Dragon's Lair, and other fantasy and board games.
In 1997, after gaining experience from hobby games in the field of computer entertainment, the developers decided to make use of their contacts. They published their first game in 1998: Fish Fillets, a puzzle game for two fish and one brain.
Next, they developed the RTS game Original War for Virgin Interactive Entertainment, followed by UFO: Aftermath for Cenega Publishing in 2003 and UFO: Aftershock (2005).
ALTAR Interactive is based in the Czech Republic.

The company announces the creation of the Independent DEvelopers Association (IDEA), together with Black Element Software and Bohemia Interactive Studio. The aim is to give indie developers a better change to compete with big publishers by combining resources.
