Overview edit · view history

Humongous Entertainment was founded in October 1992 by Ron Gilbert and Shelley Day. They are the creators of numerous games aimed at a younger audience, such as Putt-Putt, Freddi Fish, Pajama Sam, Spy Fox, and the Backyard Sports series. They also had a license for making games in the Blue's Clues IP.

From 1995 to 2000, Humongous had a sister company/label Cavedog Entertainment, which developed the Total Annihilation series of strategy games for a general audience.

On 10 July 1996, the company was acquired by GT Interactive, then to Infogrames in 2000 (renamed to Atari in 2003).

In January 2014, Tommo relaunched Humongous Entertainment after acquiring its assets from Atari's bankruptcy sales on 19 July 2013. They released a selection of their back catalog on digital stores for computers, tablets and smartphones.

Credited on 97 Games from 1992 to 2015
