Game Groups > Remastered releases
A remaster takes the original game and improves some aspects of it such as texture size or model complexity that might not have been possible for hardware at the time of initial release. While some quality-of-life improvements like additional resolutions, controls and audiovisual options are also part of such releases, none of those changes fundamentally change the gameplay.
This group does not include "enhanced ports" where the game may appear to be enhanced due to being on a technically superior platform, and some features may or may not have been added, but the bulk of the game is simply ported and not re-created.
Limitations
- Releases on different engines from the original one are not eligible for this group unless the engine in question acts as a wrapper to the original engine (e.g. Kex).
