Pretty, challenging and confusing
The Good
The positives for this game are the artwork, music and the puzzles. I'm currently at level thirty five or so and the puzzles have been steadily increasing in complexity so that I'm really having to think. I found the first dozen puzzles easy so I had a sneak peek ahead to level fifty four and I could not solve it so I resorted to playing the puzzles in sequence in the hope that my spacial awareness would improve.
I've spent around one and a half hours on the game so far but I expect to spend much more before I get to the end simply because I'm getting to the point where, for me, they are beginning to bite back.
The sound in the game is good. One or more ladies provide the usual whimpers, gasps and shrieks as the character animation reaches its climax. No idea what they are saying because it's in Chinese or, more likely, Japanese. That's not a problem for me because such effects aren't my thing but they are there and they as good if not better than I have heard in other games.
I played the game at night and the music was perfect for a late night casual gaming session. For a start there's more than one track so, although the music is on a loop it did not feel repetitive. Secondly the music is the kind of late night piano stuff with a good helping of smokey background sax that I used to listen to way back when ... well that's another story. Suffice to say it suited the time and my mood very well.
The artwork is good and the animated scenes are surprising. Given the general cuteness of the images some of the animated sections were definitely unexpected.
The Bad
I have minor issues with the gameplay and the game mechanics.
Starting with the game mechanics in assembling the hexagon shaped pieces into the game area. Moving the pieces is done by the good old drag-'n-drop method. In several puzzles I had problems where the piece being moved decided to 'go home' part way through the transfer. The mouse just could not hold onto it.
Also, I had problems where I'd put a piece into the game area, I realised it was in the wrong place but I could not get it out.
In a few places around puzzle thirty the game seemed to freeze. None of the controls would respond to the mouse and I had to close it down manually and restart. No progress was lost but it was irritating.
Then there's the game itself which felt confused as though features had been added because they could be added not because they were needed, for example;
The Bottom Line
In this game the player is presented with a series of fifty-four jigsaw-like puzzles. Each puzzle consists of an empty shape on the left and a set of coloured shapes, comprising one or more hexagons, on the right. The object being to fill the game area with these component shapes.
These puzzles start of relatively easily but soon escalate becoming harder and harder.
For every three puzzles completed the player can summon a girl, and there's a special 'Call screen' to do this. The player has no control over which girl they summon the game awards them seemingly at random. Once a girl is available in the library the player can view the image and play some mini games which usually result in fewer and fewer clothes and ultimately an animated sex scene.
Depending on the player's skill at shape puzzles there's probably two to three hours game-play here and the later puzzles are sufficiently challenging to warrant archiving the game and replaying in a couple of years.
