G-Darius HD
Description official descriptions
As of the final update, this collection contains:
- A port of the original G Darius Arcade version
- G Darius HD, an Arcade version rendering in HD resolution and using an upgraded 3D model for the Silver Hawk Genesis (retroactively named so by Dariusburst).
- The first-ever port of G Darius Ver.2 outside of Taito FX-1B Arcade machines.
- A version of G Darius HD with Ver.2 ruleset.
- A port of the PlayStation port, here named G Darius For Consumer, bringing along its boss rush mode and FMV player with an additional change: all FMVs are unlocked from the start. The slowdowns of the PlayStation port are preserved in this collection.
- G Darius Exhibition: A PC-exclusive limited boss rush mode running in ultrawide aspect ratio (24:9 letterboxed to be precise). The bosses available in this mode are Queen Fossil, Fire Fossil and G.T. (Great Thing). The same Silver Hawk Genesis model used in the Arcade HD versions is also used here.
The features this collection adds on top of these versions are:
- 30 quick save and quick load slots individualized for each version with 2 exceptions: The HD and non-HD Arcade versions share quick save slots with each other. The same for the HD and non-HD Arcade Ver.2 versions.
- Only for the Arcade versions: 3 additional quick save slots dedicated to a new autosave feature, one for the in-stage area branch, one for the start of the chosen boss variant fight and one for the zone branch.
- Only for the Arcade versions: In-game achievements.
- Only for the HD and non-HD original Arcade versions: A "Capture Gallery" containing the following information about capturable enemies (including minibosses): Their HP as enemies, their HP as the player's captured drones, the zones they appear in and their follow and attack patterns as the player's drones. The player must successfully capture an enemy type to unlock its entry in this Capture Gallery.
- Only for the Arcade versions: A new "Training Mode" that allows the player to customize starting zone, upgrade levels, difficulty levels, lives and capture ball numbers. A limited set of in-game achievements are available in this mode
- For non-PlayStation versions: An option to simulate the slowdowns of the PlayStation verion, or disable it to get the full speed challenge.
- For all versions: A new ability to customize rapid fire speed in Controller rebinding setting. This effectively backports the rapid fire function to the original Arcade version.
- Only for non-HD versions: Options to turn on smoothing and scanlines filters.
- Only for the Arcade versions: Additional UI elements to display arm (shield) strength, alpha beam power level and captured enemy's current HP.
- An option to turn on "Arcade background noise", supposedly made from real recordings at Taito's Hirose Entertainment Yard arcade center, Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan.
- A Replay Gallery to view the replays recorded locally or downloaded from the online leaderboard.
