The codec is your way to communicate with characters in a distance through the game. It functions the same way as the radio on the 2 games prior.

One of Snake's movement option is hiding against a wall, wich gives you a better view of what's on the other side.

When you get spotted, the enemies enter the alert status. Try to avoid these or you'll be farming deaths.
