Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland
Description official descriptions
Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland is a remake of Kirby's Adventure. The core gameplay has been changed little, with Kirby absorbing enemies in order to take their powers. In addition to a graphical update, some level designs have been altered, the mini-bosses have been increased in size, one of whom (the rolling turtle) has been replaced with an elephant-like creature, and two new mini-games replace the claw and egg eating mini-games from the original, both of which feature a multiplayer option. Air Grind involves Kirby grinding racing against clones of himself by grinding a warp star against a rail, while Bomb Rally involves the four Kirbys tossing a bomb between each other using frying pans.

Great, but can't live up to it's "big brother" on the NES.
The Good
Being an remake i expected a lot of this game and a lot turned out to be done right;
-The graphics that where already top notch on the NES got a good upgrade.
-Meta Knight Mode was a fun addition after beating the game twice and in overall, it brought back a great game to a younger generation. -Gameplay wise, nothing changed which is all for the better.
The Bad
Unfortunately not everything was as well worked out as it should have;
-The music sounded less vibrant and all the added effects didn't do it quite like it should have. This part should have had more attention.
-Area's like in the Butter Buildings that had the pseudo 3D effect from the original title got replaced by totally nothing. Instead you just stand in an door-less area till a door suddenly pops open. I find this laziness on the programmers side. A GBA capable of better 3D then Mode 7 should have had the same effects used as in the NES version.
-Kirby Adventure never was a hard game unless you went after the secrets as those could be tricky to get to. The GBA version however sees a "dumbing down" of the secret spots. this also goes for some other spots in the game possibly deemed to hard. This was a letdown as this made the game that was already not that hard far to easy.
-This is a personal complaint so you see this one as you must; The battle against Dedede in the NES version uses his Dedede's theme song. The GBA version uses the Fountain Of Dreams track (Kirby's Theme). I found this a very wrong decision. Your not fighting yourself and it doesn't make your fight heroic. It actually takes away that feeling that your beating one of the final bosses.
The Bottom Line
Being so much alike to the NES version i would suggest to any people who know that game trough and trough; Don't buy it unless you want to take the game everywhere with you. All the secrets are where they originally are and i blazed trough the game very quickly.
If you never played the NES game; It's a great buy to play a true NES classic belonging to one of the best games ever made for that console. Do however take in account that the game is easy to beat.
To anyone who still has a NES catching dust; Get this game off any auction site or some local garage sale if you want to play it in all it's original glory.
