Winding Standoff
Description
Winding Standoff is one of a package of games produced by The Code Zone. Games from this package were used, in various combinations, in around twenty different game compilation packages.
Winding Standoff is a single-player, strategy game that is played against the computer. This game is played on a path that winds its way across a grid. Sections of the path are marked in orange or black, these are the default colours and can be changed however the shape of the path and the arrangement of the sections cannot be altered. The players have eight pieces each and at the start of the game they take turns to place two of their playing pieces in each section. Once this stage has been completed the players move their pieces anywhere along the path, the only rule being that they cannot jump over any piece - their own or the computer's. The object of the game is to 'box in' the opponent so that they have no legal moves remaining.
The game is entirely mouse controlled. It is played in a window which cannot be re-sized. The game has sound, four levels of difficulty, in-game help screens, and a choice of playing piece, colour and screen background.
