Um El Bagara
Description
Um El Bagara is one of a package of games produced by The Code Zone. Games from this package were used, in various combinations, in around twenty different game compilation packages.
Um El Bagara is a single-player, strategy game that is played against the computer. It is a traditional mancala game from Northern Africa whose name translates as 'The Cow Game'. This is a turn-based game played on a board with two rows of five pits and two home pits. Pieces, or traditionally seeds, are placed in these pits ad players take turns to move the seeds from the second row either to the left or to the right, any that 'wrap around' are placed in the top row. If the last seed played ends in one of the end pits of the top row then the contents of that pit are transferred to one of the player's home pits. The objective for each player is to end the game with the most pieces in their home pit.
The game is entirely mouse controlled. It is played in a window which cannot be re-sized. The game has sound, four levels of difficulty, in-game help screens, and a choice of playing piece, colour and screen background.
