Disney Infinity: Toy Box 2.0
Description official description
Toy Box 2.0 is the successor to Disney Infinity: Toy Box and it is tied to Disney Infinity 2.0 the same way the first Toy Box was to the first game. It offers the full Toy Box mode from the main game on a mobile device, including multiplayer, but none of the story play sets.
Players can use all of their characters and create their own games by placing objects and buying new ones, designing a scenery, applying game logic, and sharing creations with others which is new for this version. Various parts of this mode were changed for the new edition, such as the introduction of frameworks to quickly design a specific game type. Some characters are only available in the Toy Box mode. In the original game each character had its own 'adventure', a playable level. These do not return in the second game, but Toy Box game discs are introduced. These provide a specific game genre to the Toy Box that can be edited to create variants. Also returning are power discs, physical discs placed on the base to introduce new toys, textures, skies, vehicles etc. There are circular discs that provide in-game boosts to characters and hexagonal discs that provide additional content.
The game is free-to-play and the vanilla version is very light on content as players are meant to bring over the figurines and discs they bought for any of the Disney Infinity games regardless of the version or the platform. Using a web code tied to a Disney ID the content can be unlocked in this version right away based on past purchases and progress is also carried over through cloud syncing. Players who do not own any Disney Infinity products can choose between three characters that are free for a limited time and then three new ones from the cast become available through rotation, but all progress for those characters is lost. The game uses in-app purchases to acquire characters permanently and spark packs to unlock additional toys from the store.
This second version of the Toy Box is the first release for Android and now also supports the iPhone / iPod Touch as a Universal App. Windows Apps is no longer supported as it was turned into the free-to-play version Disney Infinity 2.0: Play Without Limits, similar to the main PC version, which also supports play sets.
