Description
Oriental Legend or Xi You Shi E Zhuan is a 2D side-scrolling fighting game with cartoon graphics, based on an old Chinese novel - "Journey to the West". The player can choose one from 5 characters: Long-Nui (girl), Ba-Chien (pig-man), Long-Ma, Wu-Kong (humanoid monkey, "monkey king") and Wu-Chin.
The game has typical 2.5D gameplay, like Golden Axe, or Dynasty Wars - the player can move in all four directions, and he must beat various enemies and bosses - each level has one boss at the end. All characters have a melee weapon - like a stick, spear of sword - but can lose the weapon in battle. Heroes can collect various objects (i.e. for restoring health).
