Side-scrolling Prince of Persia like action

The Good
It's Zorro! You actually have 2 weapons, a whip and a sword. The whip doesn't hurt enemies as much, but it is effective. In fact, using the whip is actually a lot better than using the sword, since you can avoid getting hurt that way. Also, there are many in-game animation sequences that are very funny. For instance, if you whip someone at a good distance, you can sometimes cause their pants to drop. Then they shout "Hey!" and charge at you. Or, as Zorro, you can run and jump at a wall, stumbling back with an "Ooph." The game is like Prince of Persia: the controls are virtually identical: you can run, jump, climb, and so on. This was also one of the only games that I've played with FMV cut-scenes. These cinematics were pretty cool, and seemed to have come from a Zorro flick.

The Bad
There was no full install option, so I had to play with the CD still in the drive. (The install size was only 3 MB). I don't know if it was just my computer or what not, but the game sometimes acted erratically, resulting in instant death. For instance, everything would slow-down a bit (as the CD) reads, and then would speed up right when you press a command. This usually resulted in running off of high places and dying. Speaking of commands, I didn't like the sensitivity/response of the keys. At times, they were not sensitive enough, and at others, they were TOO sensitive. Furthermore, fighting with a sword was nearly impossible: you can barely block and enemy, and stabbing was your best bet. But even that did not always work.

The Bottom Line
As mentioned before, this game is like Prince of Persia, except without the finesse.

Zorro--what a joke!

The Good
I liked the fact that it had its exciting moments--sword fighting, running, jumping, and grabbing a hold of ledges before falling through the infinity spot. When I got bored, I always had Zorro draw out his sword, twirl it about three times, sword fight in midair, and then I would have him sheath it.

The Bad
Level 2--2nd part of the mines: This level seemed like an eternity to beat--every time I tried to exit the place, I died. Something I learned that is most fascinating, that most people have not learned, is this: (MOST spear shooters don't function well when you jump.)

One last thing you people need to know....There are no exit signs that show you the way. You have to FIND the right path--and once you find the right path, you "fade" out of that level into the next one.

FINALLY...I don't like the fact that I can't get past level 4. You know, that runs throughout the game--levels that seem endless and you seem to NEVER beat them. I'm stuck at a HUGE fort with planks coming out of its side--and cannon doors nearby that after a period of time, suddenly open and what comes out, soon blasts you to smithers! Nothing wrong with a bit of excitement folks, but folks--even though I hop quickly and don't become cannon food, I STILL haven't made it out of THAT level.

PS Wilyum and Moby administration, I would like you guys, if possible, to tell me what I need to do in order to beat level 4. I've tried almost everything and nothing seems to get me past that first fort.

The Bottom Line
This game is quite challenging--to put it mildly. If you like a challenging and almost impossible game, you will just LOVE this game!
