Realms of Chaos

The Good
This game was surprisingly fun. You can play as 2 different characters, though you can only use 1 or the other. However, in between the game you can switch characters anytime you want by pressing space. The first character is the typical male-barbarian-warrior (I think his name is Endrick). He fights with a sword, and so is only good for melee fights. The second character, his sister, is a typical mage-sorceress. (I can't remember her name.) She gets to shoot fireballs in any direction. You can shoot up, and when you jump, down. She also jumps higher than her warrior counterpart. Needless to say, the game is a lot funner with her as the lead role. Realms of Chaos is similar to Duke Nukem and all of those other side-scrolling platform games. It has great graphics, great sounds, and great music. It even has gore! (As well as an option to turn it off.) The replay value is moderately high, as each level has several secrets, tempting you to play a level over and over again until you find every secret.

The Bad
It wasn't until I got more RAM that this game ran smoothly. Before, I had difficulty playing it on a Dos system with 4 megs of RAM. Anywhere above that, and the game should play fine. Remember though, it -is- a Dos game, so it might not work well under Win 9.x. The ending was also disappointing though: it really wasn't worth the time spent playing through the 3 episodes.

The Bottom Line
This game is like Duke Nukem in medieval times, except you can opt to be a female sorceress (who IMHO is a -lot- better). It's a classic console-like platform game with great sounds and graphics.
