Biography edit · view history
Frank Klepacki is a music composer who has worked on most games in the Command & Conquer series, as well as the Lands of Lore series and Dune series. He is most noted for his composition Hell March from C&C: Red Alert, for which he was awarded by PC Gamer for the best original score in 1996, winning the prize over Trent Reznor for Quake.
He joined Westwood Studios when he was only 17 years old and started composing immediately, right after he got interested in computer gaming and composing for it. He worked there until the company closed. He has been involved with Petroglyph Games as composer and audio director since its foundation in 2003, but has also been doing freelance work for other games, such as Lethal League: Blaze, Soundfall, Stormgate and Tempest Rising.
EA called him in 2007 to compose for C&C 3: Tiberium Wars, but he was busy composing for Petroglyph. When he was called again in 2008 to compose C&C: Red Alert 3, he accepted and composed Hell March 3 and Grinder 2, among other tracks. He returned in 2009 to make some additional compositions for C&C: Red Alert 3 - Uprising. He made one further return to the franchise during the development of Command & Conquer: Remastered Collection, where he supplied the original masters of the tracks, cleaned up audio and provided new recordings with the band Tiberian Sons.
He was also a member of several bands, such as I AM and Home Cookin', and is a touring member of the band Family Stone. He has also performed his Command & Conquer music live with the tribute band Tiberian Sons since MAGFest 2019. Additionally, he has been releasing solo albums. All compositions and songs he made or contributed to can be heard on his website.
