Doug Lanford started at SEGA of America as a game tester after college. He tested the Genesis titles Dungeons & Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun and Kid Chameleon. The company started building their first in-house multimedia studio, and hired him as a programmer. He worked on Jurassic Park for the Sega CD, and then a second Sega CD title: Wild Woody.
He was then hired by Gametek, where a number of the people he had worked with at Sega had moved on to. He worked as a programmer and story designer on Robotech: Crystal Dreams (N64), but the game was cancelled as the company went bankrupt.
He moved on to The 3DO Company as a junior programmer, doing the collision system and the tank physics for BattleTanx: Global Assault (N64), as well as building a cinematic tool for 3D Studio MAX. He then helped port it to the PSX. Other 3DO games he worked on are World Destruction League: WarJetz, Dragon Rage and Jonny Moseley Mad Trix.
The latest game he worked on before 3DO went in limbo is Jacked. The game was never finished, though, and the game Jacked that was ultimately released, only has the name and concept in common. He has also developed several home-brew GameBoy and GameBoy Advance games.
