Paul Lalonde is a Principal Engineer with Neoptica where he divides his time between inventing high performance graphics applications and making sure those technologies are usable by games programmers, artists, and producers.

Before joining Neoptica, Paul led the engineering research efforts in Electronic Arts' World Wide Visualization Group, a multi-disciplinary effort to push the visual state of the art on next-generation consoles. Results from this effort included a public demo of Fight Night Round 3 at Sony's PlayStation 3 announcement at E3. Prior to this work Paul led the development of the EAGL graphics engine for PS2, Xbox, Gamecube and PC. Paul holds a B.Sc. from Dalhousie University, a M.Sc. from Queen's Univerisity, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia.
