Wilfredo J. Aguilar

Wilfredo (Willy) Aguilar began his career as an illustrator and graphic designer in the San Francisco Bay Area before the computer graphic revolution. In 1982 Willy joined one of the first home video game companies-IMAGIC. IMAGIC created games for the Artari, Intellivision and other video game consoles of the period. In those early days, Willy used some of the very first proprietary video game art tools in the world. At IMAGIC Willy worked on over 30 titles including the first localized home video game titles for international distribution. Willy then became an independent contractor in the mid-late 1980's working for a variety of Silicon Valley companies such as Electronic Arts, Apple and IBM. Two seminal titles worked on by Willy at the time "Touchdown Football" for the PC Jr. was the precursor to Madden Football and PGA Tour Golf became Tiger Woods Golf. Willy also had a stint at Nolan Bushnell's Sente then owned by casino giant Bally. Willy spent the next few years working for Ad agencies-SoftAd, Amazing Media and Equilibrium pioneering digital marketing just before the emergence of the Internet. In 1992 Willy Joined Electronic Arts as an artist/animator working on Madden Football 3DO one of the first video games on CD. What followed was a 21 year career working on titles such as “NHL” (3DO), “Soviet Strike”, “Nuclear Strike”, “Alien Bounty Hunter” (not released), “Knock out Kings”, “Road Rash”, “Tiger Woods Golf” (2002-2006) and “Godfather” 1 and 2. During this period Willy moved from contributor to DD and Art Manager. The Art Manager job was a position created for his skill set and contributions. The last 5 years were spent as a Art Director at EAPartners, a third party development effort and a content manger at Origin the EA on-line store. Willy is now working independently on new development for Oculus, Tilting point (mobile) and Samsung to mention a few.
