Eric Young has worked as CEO, Executive Producer, Art Director and Public Relations in the games industry. He got his degree at Southwest Missouri State University. After college Eric went into the family construction business. After a variety of other career paths were followed he settled into computer game design.

His interests are military history, wargaming, antique weapons, motorcycles, beer, golf, baseball, and football.
His award winning games include the V for Victory series, the World at War series, and the Close Combat series of games.
He now works at Freedom Games, which he co-founded with John Davidson. With his new company, consisting of many people worked on the original Close Combat, the aim was to create a 3D version of the game, first with G.I. Combat: Episode 1 - Battle of Normandy (2002), which had been cancelled at TalonSoft by Take-Two, the primary reason why he founded the new company, and later Eric Young's Squad Assault: West Front (2003).
