After graduating from Texas Tech University with a degree in Computer Science in 1992, James Monroe remained to begin work on a graduate degree. Soon, he was ready to take a break from school and heard the calling of the game industry. His first job in the industry was at Origin Systems, beginning work on Chopper on the PC and 3DO (eventually released as AH64D Longbow on the PC only). After a brief return to graduate school, James moved on to Rogue Entertainment as the Lead Programmer on Strife, an Action/RPG using the Doom engine. Since finishing Strife, James has been happily employed at Raven Software. His first project for Raven was MageSlayer, and he served as Project Lead on the Hexen II Mission Pack: Portal of Praevus and Lead Programmer on Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force and Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast.
