Mah-Jongg
- Mah-Jongg (2002 on Browser)
Description
Mah-Jongg is the very first computer implementation of the solitaire variant of Mahjongg, also known as Shanghai. It was created for the PLATO computer system with an orange and black display. Normal Mahjongg tiles are stacked on a specifically shaped pile called a turtle and the player must match two identical tiles to be able to remove them, but the tiles must be free to take (e.g. not support other tiles on top of them). The goal is to clear the entire board of tiles. The height of tiles was shown by increasing the border thickness, so tiles that were higher up the stack would have a thicker border.
