Cursed to Golfâs difficulty and gameplay loop had me hooked from the first tee. The rogue-lite elements mixed with the addicting golf gameplay will have you teeing off deep into Golf Purgatory.

Overall, I had a great time with Cursed to Golf. The golfing mechanic is simple to learn, but between the random course layouts, hazards, and Ace Cards, actually beating a hole is anything but. Constantly fun, with the only drag being the boss battles, this is an easy recommendation.

Not your typical golf affair, Cursed To Golf benefits from exquisite design, humorous characters and joyous visuals.

Get over the very, very high difficulty of Cursed to Golf and there is a fun roguelike to be had. It may be a little on the small side in terms of replayability once you escape Purgatory, but the journey there is substantial. Cursed to Golf is punishing, unrelenting and a lot of fun. It is everything you want a roguelike to be, with a side order of delightful pixel art.

Cursed to Golf is one of those games that I wasnât sure what to really expect but came away not only surprised, but smiling every time I played. Even though Iâve yet to ascend out of Golf Purgatory, Iâm enjoying each attempt, getting better with my shots and strategizing when to use my Ace Cards. At $25.99 CAD, the price might initially seem a little high for an indie golf game, but the roguelike gameplay and high difficulty adds near endless replayability on the links.

Cursed to Golf is charming, smart, sounds and plays great, and is full of heart. It mashes up a side-scrolling arcade golf game with roguelike mechanics in a fresh and exciting way. At only $20 US at launch, I think itâs well worth a purchase if anything youâve seen here has you intrigued. This is one curse thatâs well worth the cost.

Harder than it looks, but Cursed to Golfâs simple mechanics and clever mashing of genres make it a winner.

Cursed to Golf is a very creative and far more difficult than expected roguelike. Itâs definitely going to scratch your golf game itch, given how truly few there are on current generations, as well as spice up the genre with its unique gameplay and concept.

I mostly enjoyed my time with Cursed to Golf but just like Arnold Palmer, I'll be happy to retire with a nice cool glass of lemonade and iced tea because it can be quite a frustrating game that starts to overstay its welcome sooner rather than later. đš

Cursed to Golf is ultimately still a solid game, with intuitive mechanics and a gorgeous 16-bit presentation that lends it endless charm. Itâs just unfortunate that its simplicity serves to make its shortcomings all the more obvious.

Ultimately, Cursed to Golf is an enjoyable and exciting game that will deliver a level of challenge to players with a roguelike game design and basic true golf gameplay. Unfortunately, the repetitive soundtrack and roguelike elements sometimes felt like it was holding the rest of the game back. Still, polished gameplay, a gorgeous art style, and high replay value make this game an easy recommendation.

By trying to merge golf into a roguelike without compromising either idea, Chuhai Labs have created a mean game thatâs simply confused on what it wants to be. Is it a repetitious, randomized roguelike that rewards a playerâs persistence, or an optimized golf simulator that promotes patience and planning? Itâs not really either one, instead standing in the middle of the two options: a golf game that simultaneously wants you to be efficient with your swings while also taking as many as possible. And if you really want to get out of hell, you will be swinging a lot. To that I only have two things to say: Godspeed and fore!
