Family Fortunes
- Family Fortunes (2009 on Nintendo DS)
Description
Family Fortunes is a television game in which two families of five compete to guess the answers given by 100 average people surveyed. When a player correctly guesses an answer, the answer and the number of surveyed people who gave that answer are revealed on the main game board. These numbers make up the point tally for a question and the total is displayed on the board. At the start of the game, the player has two choices: They can create a family of their own with which they can play the game, including some basic character customisation options. The second option is, of course, to play the game and for that they must select the Backstage option.
The game can be played by two players/teams as one player/team vs the computer and it consists of three regular rounds followed by double money rounds and it keeps on going until one family has reached 300 points when two players of the winning team are then selected to play the final Big Money round.
In each round the host, Les Dennis, reads out the survey question. The first player to buzz in gets to answer the question; as this is a keyboard-controlled game the family on the left presses the space bar to buzz in while the family on the right uses the ENTER key. All answers must be typed in within a limited time period.
Whoever scores the highest in this exchange gets to choose whether they will play the round or pass to their opponents. The family that reaches three hundred points first wins the game and plays the Big Money round.
