Description

Ninjas and Zombies have forever hated one another throughout the ages. Only when humanity reached space were these factions able to go their separate ways and find enough space to live independently. However the ruling Pterodactyl Government encourages trade and the lure for profit causes these factions to interact once more. On top of things, there are nasty space pirates and crazy Cyborgs who want to assimilate everyone (usually after killing them first). In this crazy galaxy… tensions rise approaching Ninjastarmageddon!

Zombie Smashers X3: Ninjastarmageddon is a 3rd person space trading game, most similar to Elite or Freelancer. Players begin by choosing a starting vehicle (a collection of space-worthy jeeps, jalopys and minivans), a player character and a co-pilot. The co-pilot mans the secondary weapon, from missiles to rocket launchers, but is controlled by the player. In addition to hardware, there also exists the Bank where games are loaded and saved , the supermarket (the big ones are named Ultra-Shopper-Mart, smaller ones are fruit stands) where goods are bought and sold, the Shipyards, the Weapons store, Mission Control where new missions can be accepted, the Gas Blaster station (cars need gas, even in space!) and etc. The player travels between different “node” star system locations on the space map, which may contain some or none of the services listed.

The spaceships of different factions roam the galaxy. When hostile forces encounter one another they will often engage in combat. The player can fire directly in front with their primary weapon or unleash the secondary weapon, whose effects vary. Enemy ships that are hit will display a hitpoints meter. When it is depleted the ship is destroyed and will often drop cargo. Cargo and debris can be captured by the player's tractor beam and sold at friendly ports. At the shipyards larger vehicles can be purchased, such as galleons which are able to store and launch smaller cars as "fighter craft" for combat situations (such as the jeeps and 4-door flying cars), at the cost of cargo space.
