Popper
Description
Popper is a single player freeware game developed by Housemarque's New Media division. It was one of a series of 'advertainment' games they developed - games designed to advertise a company or one of its products.
In this case the company was a Finnish drinks company which is why the game sees the player effectively piloting a bottle down a race track. The objective of the game is achieve a high score by capturing stars that represent the drink's flavours while avoiding bubbles, which slow the bottle down, and black stars, which break the bottle.
The player has three lives and must capture a fixed percentage of each flavour in order to complete the level and progress to the next. For level one that means capturing 50% of each of the margerita, cupuacu and orange mango flavours as they whizz past. Each level is timed and has a countdown clock in the top right of the screen.
The game has a soundtrack, sound effects, and a high score table but no save game function. It is entirely keyboard controlled.
